Accommodation, workshops, discussions, Belgian beers and other rarities

Filou is a house invented in the middle of a valley. Filou is a garden among pines, almond trees and olive trees, wild honeysuckle, country fig trees.

Filou is a workshop for artists surrounded by foxes, badgers, owls and squirrels. Filou is a almond blossom field that spills down the valley until it kisses the river.

Filou is an empty Mediterranean retreat, where the horizon still breathes without haste.

Filou finds himself in a land unvanquished by tourism, where silence still has a name; in a hidden Spain that reveals itself only to those who walk slowly.

Filou is: Nature. Walking. Contemplating. Reading. Creating. Doing nothing. Laughter, roses and chats. A bird sings. Holidays. Full moon. Swimming in the river. Talking the hind leg off a donkey. Laziness. Books, wine and beer: Belgian beer, partying and a siesta, I'll have a herbal tea, fun encounters, painting a picture, lying on the grass.

Filou is not strictly a country house or a conventional rural retreat. Filou is a huge garden that the house looks out over, where every corner has been thoughtfully designed and every detail tells a story.

You will find us at the gateway to the Matarraña region and Els Ports, about an hour and a half from Tarragona, Zaragoza, Castellón and the coast; in one of the most authentic and least traveled corners of Spain.

One of the features that makes Filou special is its layout, which allows it to independently accommodate anywhere from two people up to groups of ten.

The House and the four rooms share a garden and spirit, but each has its own entrance, offering privacy with a space of your own. You can book just The House, combine it with the rooms you need, or book an independent room for shorter stays.

And if you are travelling by campervan or with a tent, we have news: we are improving the field adjacent to the house, an open space surrounded by nature, with access to a shower, toilets and barbecue at Filou.
